October 2021

Good afternoon, MGP Families!
We can hardly believe it's October already! The weather sure reflects our transition to fall! October is a wonderful month at school; students are into the routines of being at school, student growth and learning is happening continuously, and our teachers know their students by name and need. We look forward to collaborating with you during our parent conferences at the end of October. These conversations are so instrumental in each child's success. Our teachers spend a great deal of time assessing students in various areas in order to share important data with you. They are also happy to share about your child's habits and behaviors in the classroom that support learning. If your child works with additional support staff you can ask that they are included as well.
With our BGPS Levy coming up on November 2nd, we wanted to share important LEVY FACTS with you here. Please also see the video and flier attached above.
Looking forward to a great month of learning together! Please let us know if you have any questions and how to best support your child here at MGP!

MGP PTA News
Hello from your PTA!
Payback sales are going strong! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we couldn’t do it without our wonderful families. Thank you to everyone who is working hard on selling the books and for getting the unsold books back so we can fill orders. The deadline for returns is Thursday, October 7th (Friday is a no school day).
If you unable to sell or not planning on selling, please return books ASAP. We need these to fill orders. Reminders will go out the following week after the due date to those who have not returned any sold or unsold books.
Earn a Prize? These will take some time as we have to order them from the Payback Book company once the sale is finalized and sometimes there are delays but they will get out to children once we received them. Prizes will be distributed as soon as we are able!
Have a Wildcat Day!

News from the Art Room!
For the month of September, we have been inspired by the AMAZING book, The Dot by Peter Reynolds. It is celebrated all over the world on September 15th, check out the website! The Dot follows the story of Vashti, a girl who believes she can't draw. The book celebrates creativity and trying something new, making a mark and seeing where it takes you! All students have been doing Art explorations and creating their own dots to add to a SCHOOL WIDE Art collab project! Ask your artists about what they have been doing, and if you would like to add to our artwork, look for a note going home from the Art Room the first week of October.
Keep an eye out in our next family newsletter for pictures of our art collaboration! Art on!
