Wilson Hill Weekly
8/12/2022 Parent Newsletter
Wilson Hill Families
In my previous "back to school" newsletter I shared a great deal of important back to school information. I have left the majority of that info below for your reference. We hope your child is getting excited for coming back to school next week. Just a reminder our first day of school is Wednesday, August 17th. You should have received an email this morning regarding your child's classroom teacher for the 2022-23 school year. Due to safety and privacy concerns we are not sharing entire class lists as has been done in the past. Please take some time to review all the information below. Should you have any questions please feel free to reach out directly. We are hoping to make the 2022-23 school year at Wilson Hill a great one!

New Updates:
Meet the Teacher/Ice Cream Social
We ask during the first hour of our event you come inside to meet your teacher and drop off any supplies, and then head outside to our playground area behind school to enjoy an ice cream treat from dairy queen. There will also be several tables setup with community organizations you can join such as the PTO, boy scouts, girls scouts, cross country team etc.
School Safe ID - student check in/out
In the event you need to check your student out of school for an appointment or any other reason, please be prepared to utilize our computer system - school safe ID. Upon arriving at Wilson Hill please come to the main entrance (door 1) and ring the doorbell located to the right of the main entrance. Someone from our front office staff will invite you inside the building and direct you to the main office (straight ahead). We have 2 kiosk systems located by the office windows. You'll need your ID in order to check out or in your child from Wilson Hill. Reminder, at 7:45 our tardy bell rings and all exterior doors to the building are locked. If you are bringing your child to school tardy, you will need to park and walk them to the main entrance to check them in. For safety reasons, please do not drop your child and leave, please walk them into the school with your ID to check them into school.
Join the Wilson Hill White Tigers Cross Country Team

Updating your families information via the Worthington Schools Website
Every year Worthington School District parents must update their child’s emergency data in order to provide the school with accurate contact information. Please complete this task before the start of school, August 17, 2022. Inevitably, a child is sick or is injured on the first day of school, so it is important that we have the most up to date information. If you are new to the district or have an incoming kindergartener as your first child attending Wilson Hill, parent passwords will be sent the first week of August.

For a change of address, complete the change of address form and return it to the Welcome Center, 200 E. Wilson Bridge Rd., Worthington, Ohio 43085. For a change in custody you will need to complete the Custody Affidavit found under the Welcome Center tab on the Worthington District website.
Parent Information – Cell and work phone; email address; and notification preferences (note that both the school and district use email as a primary notification to parents on a regular basis so there should be at least one email used for emergencies, high priority and general basis)
Health Services Information - It is important that we have working telephone numbers for two Emergency Contact persons as well as parent(s). We will use the Emergency Contacts if we are unable to reach a parent when a student is absent from class. We also appreciate the name and phone number of your child’s Primary Care Provider; Preferred Dentist; M.D. Specialist (if applicable); Preferred Hospital and if you consent or are refusing to consent to medical treatment for your child in an emergency. All Medical or Mental Health Conditions should be listed as well as any medications (both prescription and over the counter) taken by your child on a regular or emergency basis.
Release Agreements - Two of the three Release Agreement statements should be completed with either a “yes” or “no” indicator. The Permission for Release of Directory Information has been expanded to give parents more options. Please review the Permission Release of Directory Information carefully. If you indicate the last option to deny requests for student information, you must also submit your request in writing to the school within two weeks from choosing this option.
- Parent Password - Parents can access their own login credentials by clicking the Password Recovery link under Quick Links on the Worthington Schools main page. They enter their email address (it needs to be the email that we have on file for them) and will immediately get an email sent to them with their district-provided username and password, which they can use to login to the Parent Portal as well as Infinite Campus. If you are a new parent to Worthington Schools, a password will be sent to you the first week of August.
School Supplies
School Fees
Fees for Elementary School Instructional Supplies and Materials
The Worthington School District elementary school fee schedule is listed below. Fee money is used to help with the additional costs for reading and math materials and other consumable supplies that are used in areas such as art, science and handwriting. Fee amounts vary by grade level as the types of materials are different.
The money collected for these materials will be deposited in a school supplies fund that serves your school. These funds will enable us to provide your child’s teacher with sufficient materials for the classroom.
Fees are non-refundable. Students who leave the district will be allowed to take with them their used workbooks which were purchased through fees. Fees for students enrolling during the second semester will be adjusted to one-half of the rate.
The district elementary fee schedule is as follows:
Kindergarten: $24
Grades 1, 2, 3: $42
Grades 4, 5: $36
Fees are due at the onset of school and may be paid electronically at MyPaymentsPlus.com (debit, credit or electronic check), by written check or by cash. Written checks should be payable to "Wilson Hill School." There is no need to write a separate check for each child, but please note each child’s name and grade on the memo line so accurate credit can be given. The cancelled check will serve as your receipt. If you prefer to pay in cash, please have the exact amount as we are not able to make change.
Fees may be waived either in full or by half for students qualifying for the free/reduced meals program. You must submit the completed 2022-23 Free and Reduced Price School Meals Family Application AND the Waiver Sharing form attached to the application to be considered for a fee waiver. These forms are available in the school office and on the district web site www.worthington.k12.oh.us.
