"Opportunities don't happen, you create them" - Chris Grosser (Submitted by Cheyenne McBane, 10th)
Greetings Brahma Nation,
Just like that, the first month of the second semester has ended, February is already upon us. The time is flying by. Please take advantage of all the resources that the school has to offer in order for your child to have the best possible experience. We need everyone to be proactive; talk to your teachers, seek out your assistant principals, make an appointment with your counselors.
As a reminder, if you have some great pictures to share, email them to me - my email is below. I will do my best to get some of them in the newsletter. Many times coaches will send me pictures and scores, when they do, I will get those in the newsletter. My admin team does its best to be at as many events as possible but it isn't possible for us to be at everything. That's where you parents can help. Send us those photos.
Let's have another great week.

Our 10 Stages of Genocide exhibit explores the 10 stages of genocide as proposed by Dr. Gregory Stanton. 🤘🏽 College - Career - Military Readiness
Hello Brahma Families!
Thank you everyone that joined the MacArthur College and Career Center Google Classrooms that I created when I started here in December. I was able to get the old Google Classrooms active again so I will spend the next week migrating and updating information to the old Google Classrooms. I will then use the old Google Classrooms instead of the new ones I created. If you left the old Google Classrooms due to joining the new ones, the join codes are below. Please rejoin.
Class codes:
9th Grade: b3em4w7
10th Grade: fl2mrgo
11th Grade: k7wvfze
12th Grade: x35xoee
The next TSI Exam will be on Saturday February 11th. February 11th will also be the first TSI Exam opportunity for students seeking to enroll in Dual Credit. Please remember that you need to have already applied to San Antonio College (SAC) as a Dual Credit Student for Fall 2023 and have your Banner ID to register for the TSI when seeking to enroll in Dual Credit.

On Wednesday February 1st, our Coast Guard Recruiter will be giving a presentation to 11th and 12th grade students who are thinking of taking the ASVAB. The presentation will be in the Library during 4th period. It will be about general information about the ASVAB as well as dispelling any myths or rumors about it. Chief Torres will also hold a Q&A session where you can ask what is on your mind.
Remember that the ASVAB is NOT just for joining the military. It is an aptitude test that can give you information about what career fields and/or college majors where you would find success. If you are unsure about taking the ASVAB, what you want to study in college, or which career field you want to look to work in, I highly recommend joining the presentation.
If you are interested in attending this presentation, please fill out the form below. Students that have already signed up for the February 15th ASVAB do NOT have to fill out this form.
You will be invited to the presentation without this form.

If you already know you would like to take the ASVAB Test, here is another Form to sign up for the exam. The ASVAB will be on Wednesday February 15th and the deadline to register is one week prior which is February 8th. You can also find the registration under the Announcements section of the MacArthur website. Reminder that you must be in the 11th or 12th Grade to take the ASVAB.
