Collective Efficacy
The connection between Teacher Affiliation and Collective Efficacy
Teacher Affiliation – A sense of camaraderie and strong connection with the teachers/staff of the school. There is a positive feeling about each other, the school, their roles, and students. The teachers possess a commitment to both their students and their colleagues. Climate and morale could be described with enthusiasm, finding ways to work together, and there is no need to coerce cooperation.
Collective Efficacy – The “collective” self-perception that teachers in a given school make an educational difference to their students over and above the educational impact of their homes and communities.
This will be featured at Summer Institute and be the book study for Title I cadres next year.
