SEMESTER EXAM EXEMPTIONS
Beginning March 1, students who have 3 or fewer absences in a course for the remainder of the semester are eligible to exempt their spring semester exam. Additional criteria for exemptions are outlined below. For Northside students in grades 6-12 who are enrolled in courses earning high school credit, students may earn an exam exemption by meeting the following criteria. 1. If the course is a full-year course, the student must have passed the first semester. 2. The student's final average for the spring semester must be a grade of 80 or higher. 3. The student's conduct grade in that class must be satisfactory āSā or better. 4. The student must attend school during the scheduled exam time. 5. The student must have 3 or fewer absences for the second semester (beginning March 1st). This excludes Excused School Business absences. Certain Dual Credit classes cannot be exempted from semester exams. If you have questions regarding semester exams in Dual Credit courses, please reach out to your child's Dual Credit teacher. Please note: Students who are absent during the scheduled exam time will lose the exam exemption, receive an "11" as an exam grade and will be required to make up the exam during summer break.
