Spring Showcase, May 24th
Our annual Spring Showcase will be happening on May 24th from 5:00 - 6:30 pm. Please join us and check out students' artwork on display in the gym and visit your child's classroom for a final reading check-in with your student's teacher. Stay and enjoy tamales, chips and salsa with our school community as we celebrate spring and our students!
If you are able, we need donations of chips and salsa. Just drop them off at the front office in advance. Thank you!
(Registration help will also be available in the office from 3-5 pm)
Register Now for the 2023-24 School Year
Register for the upcoming school year and help your student's class win a popsicle party and maybe even an extra recess!
All currently enrolled students MUST complete the online registration process. The earlier you register the better because it helps our schools plan for teacher and classroom needs. When registering, please make sure that your email address and phone number are current. Registration help will be available in the PES cafeteria after school on Wednesday, May 17th until 5:30pm and on Wednesday, May 24th from 3:00 to 5:00pm.
And just to make things fun, any class that reaches 50% registered wins a popsicle party. Any class that reaches 100% registered will earn an extra recess!
The Boys and Girls Club is Coming to PES
The Boys and Girls Club will be offering after-school care at Phoenix Elementary School next year. On School days, care will be available until 6:00pm for a cost of $75/month for grades 2nd-5th and $200/month for grades K-1st. Non-school day care will also be available from 7:15am until 5:15pm. The program will start on the first day of school next year. Keep a look out for more information to be coming home with your student in the future.
Time to order your yearbook!
The 22-23 PES Yearbook is still available to order. Mr. Nava has worked hard and created a beautiful hardcover book that students can purchase for $15. Simply return the order form with $15 (cash or check) to the front office. No order form, no problem! Your student can just bring a note with their name and class attached to their payment. Supplies are limited so we encourage families to reserve their copy early. Yearbooks will be arriving around the end of May.
Kinder Take Off Program available to incoming Kindergarteners
Do you know an incoming Kindergartener next year? Please help spread the word about the Boys and Girls Club Kinder Take Off program being offered this summer to all incoming 2023-24 kindergarteners at PES. This is a free program from July 10th to Aug. 18th. Please refer to the flyer below for complete details.
Figaro's Outstanding Jr. Pirate Winners
A big thank you to Figaro's in Phoenix for helping PES recognize some of our outstanding students! Students have been earning Pirate Leader tickets by demonstrating our values of being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. Every morning 2 recipients are recognized during morning announcements, and on Friday all tickets are put in a drawing and 2 are chosen to receive a Capt. Figgy's Treasure Ticket from Figaro's Pizza in Phoenix. These Treasure Tickets can be redeemed only at the Phoenix Figaro's location for a free personal pizza, no purchase is required. Tickets are sent home with the student in their backpacks. Last week's winners were Brooklyn G. from Mrs. Tally's class and Alicia V. from Mrs. Mohatt's class. This week's winners are Beckett from Ms. Dentino's class and Azalea from Ms. Hawkins' class. Great job to all Jr. Pirates who earned tickets.

Want to Volunteer or Visit?
All volunteers, whether working in the classroom, on campus or attending a field trip, must complete the background check form found HERE
Completing the form should be done at least 2 weeks prior to volunteering and they are good for 2 years.
All volunteers and visitors must sign in at the office using our Raptor system. Please be sure to bring your ID with you. Do not hesitate to give us a call should you have any questions.
