Report Cards - Promoted/Retained?
The Governor had declared that due to many schools inability to ensure we have remediated, etc. that all students would be promoted this year. He also declared that parents have the option of retaining their child. Parents wishing to retain their child need to put that in writing to Mrs. Sauer prior to July 1st. asauer@southsidecharter.org.
School Supplies!! Lists are Posted and Kits are for sale!
For 2020-21, we have greatly reduced our student supply list focusing on the essentials ($26-$30) as we know many families have experienced hardships with income loss due to Covid-19 employment impacts. We do have many of the item donations left that were unused in the spring that will help in the fall, but we don't have enough to last all year. If you are able to, we would love for you to pick some items off of the optional list to contribute.
You can save a shopping trip and purchase your pre-selected supplies from SchoolKitz - Teacher Tailored. We have set up pre-made boxes that will be shipped to arrive at the school the week of August 2nd with your child's name on the box and we will deliver to the classroom. You can also purchase book bags, lunch boxes, and additional donations such as Clorox wipes, tissues, hand sanitizer etc. This is not a fundraiser, although we do get a small donation back from items like book bags, etc. and we get $200 of donated supplies for the school.
The sale is from 6/13-6/26 - this is a firm deadline to ensure shipping on time. This is a different company than used before and much larger/national chain with rave reviews from parents.
Supplies are GUARANTEED to last the school year - for example if your middle school binder breaks, it will be replaced!!
This information and school supply lists are also posted on our website under "Parents - School Supplies" www.southsidecharter.org

Phase 2: New this year in CSUSA, for the second step in the process, parents/guardians will complete an online Re-Enrollment Packet for returning students. This allows us to collect updated student demographic data, receive parent/guardian consent, and emergency contact information closer to the start of the school year. By completing this step, we will have fewer updates needed for emergency contact information in August/September.
Phase 2 of the recommit process begins today, 5/4/20 and must be completed prior to July 1st. All recommitted students must complete this process in order to be fully enrolled to return to DCSS for the 20-21 school year. Please visit our enrollment website, SchoolMint https://csusa.schoolmint.net to complete the re-enrollment process.
