Classroom Time!

This fall we were thrilled to welcome back the classes from Leetonia, Transition, Mohawk! These kids, teachers, and staff are such an important part of Goodness Grows. It is a highlight each time to welcome back old friends and make new ones. This season they have been busy with weeding, harvesting, prepping gardens for winter, working in the kitchen, sorting donations for the Giveaway, and so much more! We thank all involved for all their hard work!

Friendsgiving at Diletto Winery

We are so excited to celebrate the night before Thanksgiving at Diletto Winery in Boardman again this year! Goodness Grows will be there, selling jam and raising money for our program. We deeply appreciate Diletto's generosity in hosting this fundraiser for the second year in a row! Save the date ~ Wednesday, November 27 ~ and watch for more details to come.

Community Supported Agriculture

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all our subscribers! You have all been a pleasure to work with and we have enjoyed pick-up days and email/text chats with you! The rainy spring/early summer definitely made for a challenging growing season but we persevered and we appreciate all the support you gave us! We hope you enjoyed your shares and picked up some new favorite recipes to add to your cooking repertoire. We will send out CSA 2020 info in late winter/early spring. We would love to have our current subscribers join in again, and we invite new subscribers to jump on board. See you next week for the final CSA Day of 2019!

GG Volunteers Too

One of our favorite year-round activities is our volunteer time visits to Whispering Pines in Columbiana. We are always greeted so cheerfully and everyone is happy to see us. We have helped out with a variety of tasks, from decorating to un-decorating, planting, weeding, stuffing Easter Eggs, making signs, and more. Seeing the residents, staff, and Millie the dog every other Monday just brightens our week!

Butterfly Releases

This has been a banner year for butterflies! We started off counting how many caterpillars we found and quickly lost track. We can just say that we housed many caterpillars this year and released many butterflies. Our clients, staff, classrooms, and friends enjoy watching this amazing life cycle and seeing the beautiful butterflies take off into the wild!

GG at the Canfield Fair

The end of summer is always marked by a trip to the Canfield Fair. We didn't have
any entries this year, but we still had a fabulous time exploring everything! We added
a lock to the rooster, ate fair treats, and had a great time.

Special Needs Production

Coming up at the end of this month is the fall special needs musical at Crown Theater in Columbiana. Two of our clients are actors in this production. Tori is Peter Pan and Dustin is a knight and we are so proud of them for all their hard work and enthusiasm! Some of the other fantastic actors are also friends of GG and we are excited for them as well. These productions are always top-notch and full of fun. We highly recommend checking it out!
