BCIT WESTAMPTON
2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR INFORMATION
WELCOME TO WESTECH
A message from your principal Mr. Venuto
Students and Families,
The opening of the 2020-21 school year is unprecedented as we navigate through this current crisis. Dependent on new information, we continue to refine our reopening plans to ensure students are able to return to a safe learning environment.
By now you should have received information regarding our hybrid schedule which includes:
- an option form for remote learning
- current student schedule and designated rotation
- Chromebook distribution information for new students
- changes to fall athletics
We realize the challenges ahead and rely on our instructional staff to teach students in-person and in a synchronous format for those working remotely. Teachers have been equipped with various instructional technology platforms to help them perform this task, and our expectation for rigorous coursework remains the same, expecting students to adhere to due dates and deadlines set forth by teachers.
Additionally, afternoon time has been set aside throughout the week for students to receive virtual assistance from teachers and counselors which includes social-emotional support and opportunities to participate in clubs/activities virtually. Information from staff members will be forthcoming once the school year gets underway and families may reach out to individual staff to schedule a time.
I hope you find the next few pages of this newsletter informative. My virtual door is always open, and I welcome the opportunity to discuss issues or to answer your questions. I look forward to our anticipated partnership and continued support from parents, as we work together to ensure the success of our students. This will certainly be a community effort, and we ask for your continued support at home during the remote learning experience.
Enjoy the remaining weeks of the summer, and we will see rotation day "B" students on September 8th.
