This week we had our first group of "Meet-Ups", where we got to know each other and shared our about our self-care tips and tricks. Even practiced some deep breathing.
Other examples of self-care include: sitting outside in the sun for a few minutes for vitamin D, walking around the neighborhood, gardening, physical movement of any kind, light scented candles and sit quietly in a room for a few moments, find something humorous to enjoy. Remember to be kind to yourself! It's not selfish to be into your self care!
10 Strategies to Manage Your Wellness During this Time:
1. Maintain your regular routines- established routines provide comfort and stability
2. Keep moving- physical activity is critical for emotional regulation
3. Create a daily "to do" list- completing tasks and checking them off gives you a sense of accomplishment
4. Write it down- keep track of your emotions and responses; act if necessary
5. Stay positive- allow mistakes, the positive brain chemicals will help with emotions
6. Learn to grow- find growth opportunities; create new rituals and connections
7. Seek balance - focus on what's important; balance your efforts in all areas
8. Reward success- pay attention to small victories and celebrate them
9. Laugh and have fun- laughter is really therapeutic- it's a proven fact
10. There's always another day- you can get to it tomorrow
Reach out if you need help!!!
At last Tuesday's Happy Hour we beautifully honored Pat. Her impact on the organization will be felt for years to come.
Next week's topic for our "Meet-Ups" will be our Hobbies -what we do to unwind and express our creativity.
