QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Course Planning & Scheduling Questions

  • Summer Learning Program: If you are planning to take a required course through the Summer Learning Program (SLP) this summer, please make note of this on your scheduling card for we are aware of your plans. We don't want to think you made a mistake of not scheduling for a course .
  • Credit by Exam: If you are planning to take a exam for credit this spring, please note this on your scheduling card. Make a note of the class you would like us to replace it with if you do earn credit for the course. (i.e. "planning to test out of geometry, would like to take Honors Algebra 2 if I pass the exam") You will still want to schedule for the required 9th grade course and we will make the change if needed after the credit by exam results are provided. You will need complete the credit by exam application to sit for an exam in the spring. Applications are available in the counseling office and online. Here is the link to the credit by exam information https://www.rochester.k12.mi.us/academics/assessment/credit-by-exam
  • Marching Band/Jazz Band: These classes are additional courses outside of the 6 hour school day. They are not included in the 12 semesters. You will not be able to enter these courses in StudentVue, so please make sure you clearly mark the box if you are planning to take either of these courses so we can be sure to manually add it in for you.
  • PE Flex: Students may only flex their PE requirement with 2 seasons of a MHSAA school sports or marching band. There are no exceptions to this. No outside sports or activities we will be approved.

Counselors will be at Hart MS during lunch on 3/11 & 3/14 to answer questions and provide course selection support
