We are so excited that we have been in session for six weeks! Although we had some illness at the start of the school year and were short-handed staff-wise, so many individuals stepped up in order for us to remain open! The Valley is full of hard-working individuals and Butler Elementary is incredibly fortunate to have those people working for and with your children!
Our families have been very proactive when it comes to the health and safety of others. Keeping your children home when they are sick has been instrumental in our ability to stay open. Thank you!
We will be allowing volunteers back into the building. If you are interested in being a volunteer, you will need to be fingerprinted and have a background check completed. Our Board of Education can help with this; please call ahead to make an appointment at 419-886-3855.

Upcoming Dates and Events
Mrs. Nickoli will be going into kindergarten classrooms to conduct the KRA assessment. The Ohio Department of Education expects Districts to gather baseline data on students entering kindergarten. This information will help inform our teachers' instructional practices. Please encourage your child to be cooperative and do their best!
October 15th Early Release
Early release for Applefest. Walkers and car riders will be released at 1:00. Buses will pick up students at 1:15. On a normal day, buses arrive at 3:00....to help figure out timing!
October 27th through November 1st AIR Testing for Third Grade
Testing will take place on October 27th and 28th. Please do your best to send your child to school those days. Make-up tests will be given on October 29th and November 1st.
October 29th Harvest Parties
Harvest parties will take place after lunch. Parent volunteers may assist in the classroom. Please make sure your child's costume does not include weapons or any blood/gore.
November 15th Parent-Teacher Conferences
We will host parent-teacher conferences on Monday, November 15th from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parents will have the option to attend in person or via ZOOM.
November 24th-29th Thanksgiving Break
Students will return on Tuesday, November 30th.

Purple Star Fundraiser
The sale will begin on October 11th. Please watch for more information in your child's take-home folder.
If you would like to donate a pie to a Veteran, our Purple Star students will be delivering vouchers to those individuals who have served our country and live in the Valley.

Holiday Plant Sale
Sale will begin October 15th and run through the 29th. Pick-up will be in early December.
Fifth Grade Chocolate Sale
5th graders will be selling their chocolates at Applefest. Proceeds from the sale will fund their end-of-the-year field trip.
We are looking for local vendors to sell their wares during our Holiday Fair in December. Items should be priced for students to purchase for family members.
The BOOK FAIR is BACk!!!! We will be open on the stage at school during the week of November 15th!!!
