The Scientific Revolution

What was the change?
The Scientific Revolution changed views of hundreds of people during that time. All sorts of scientists and astronomers were very diligent and they started to learn and perform observations themselves rather than the Pope. In result of this, people started moving away from the church and didn't rely on them for answers. New theories such as the world being Heliocentric (where the sun is the center of the universe) was starting to be known instead of previous theories by the Church as the world being Geocentric. This was a huge change to our previous understandings.
Who were the people associated with the change?
There were probably many unknown people who were associated with the scientific revolution. But, the four most important ones were Copernicus,Galileo,Newton, and Kepler.First of all, Copernicus observed the Heliocentric model and made theories about it. From this, Kepler proved that the Heliocentric model was true and that Copernicus was correct. Sir Isaac Newton, though, created the Law of Universal Gravitation and also studied philosophy. Lastly, Galileo proved many of Aristotle's theories to be wrong. Without these people, we would still be under the impression of false theories.

How did the change impact society at the time?
The change that the Scientific Revolution brought caused confusion and conflict in the society. The church was very angry about the Heliocentric model because the Bible wrote about the universe being Geocentric. In other terms, Bible was proven wrong. Not only were the church angry bout that, They were also very furious with Galileo proving Aristotle's theories wrong. In result to this, the church trapped Galileo in his house until he died (house arrest). As you can see, the church was not happy with the Scientific Revolution and how it impacted society.
How is that change evident in today's modern society?
The Scientific Revolution brought much change to our society. We don't rely on the church for anything except any religious facts. People are more independent and they do their own observations. If the Scientific Revolution had not occurred, we would still be under the impression about these false theories such as the Geocentric model and Aristotle's theories. The Scientific Revolution helped modern society to be the way it is now.
