On the Case: VBS Volunteer 2023

VBS 2023 planning is well underway! It is time to sign up to be a volunteer to help our VBS be the most successful. Our goal this year is to have 150 kids from preschool to 5th grade as well as adding in a family element with a class for parents and adults. This year, we plan to serve dinner to all, participants and volunteers each night with a family meal night on Wednesday, July 12. Childcare will be provided to any volunteers that have children under the age of 3. We will need a variety of volunteers, if you don't see an area on the sign up form that fits your strengths, please contact Carmen Bertrand at 832-527-7106 and let's talk about how you can help! There are many ways to volunteer, you don't want to miss this opportunity!

Summer Volunteer Opportunities will be coming soon!

The Children's ministry is not successful without our wonderful volunteers! We love and appreciate each person that dedicates some time to our precious children!

Summer is coming and it is a great time to get involved in the children's ministry (it's the shortest season of classes!) We have many opportunities that will be available, please pray about it and see where God can use use within this sweet ministry.

All curriculum will be provided and a teacher training will be scheduled to ensure that you feel equipped to be a success! The summer session runs from June 4 to August 27.

Also, we have MANY opportunities for all to get involved in VBS this year, so please be on the lookout for sign ups to be out soon!

Contact Carmen Bertrand at carmen@kwcoc.org or 832-527-7106 with any questions.

New Beginnings Camp at Camp Akiva

We are excited to be able to offer a camp for our elementary kids this summer! New Beginnings Camp offers a week long camp for kids that have completed Kindergarten through the 5th grade. Please take a moment and see all that happens at New Beginnings Camp and save the date! Use the link below to register or for more information about the camp itself. The camp fee for each camper is $300 which includes all things camp related such as meals at camp, t-shirts, lodging, crafts etc. When you register, please be sure to note that you are a part of Kingwood Church of Christ. If you feel that you can be a volunteer/counselor for this week of camp, please email me at Carmen@kwcoc.org or text at 832-527-7106. We will have a parent meeting for those attending camp in April to finalize details of transportation, items to bring/pack and answer any questions. If you are willing to sponsor a child at camp or would like to be a volunteer/camp counselor for camp, please contact Carmen.

Donations are needed!

Please think about donating to our Easter Festival to help it be a successful event for our children, families and community members.

4-5 bags of Deer corn (to be used in the corn pit)

A large tin/water water trough (will be returned)

We will also need a few volunteers to help with set up and clean up, so please let me know if you can be available for either of those times at the Easter Festival!
