Early Release Day (March 8th)
HALF-DAY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY
Thursday, March 8th is a half-day for Davis Hill Students. All Davis Hill Teachers will be taking part in Professional Development opportunities.
Please note the following:
-Dismissal will be at 12:20 for all students (Including AM kindergarten).
-There is no Holden Recreational Department After School Program on Thursday.
-For students who typically attend the After School Program, I do request that parents send a note in with their child confirming their dismissal plans for the half-day. This is incredibly helpful for the teachers/ office staff and reduces our need to make phone calls verifying dismissal plans. Students who typically attend the After School Program will be sent home according to their assignment in PowerSchool if no notification is received.
-Notes should also be sent in for any students who will have a change to their typical dismissal routine for Thursday.
-AM Kindergarten students will be dismissed with all students and go home at 12:20. If you have a question regarding dismissal for your AM Kindergarten child, please contact your child’s teacher and/ or write a note regarding the dismissal routine for Thursday.
*NOTE
The WRSD and Davis Hill will be serving lunch on half-days this school year. Please see the lunch menu link on our website if you are interested in purchasing lunch on these days. All students (whether buying lunch or not) will be provided a time to eat in the cafeteria on half-days.
Attention Fourth Grade Families! Invention Convention Reschedule

PAINT NIGHT REMINDER FROM PTA
Please remember that payment is due for 'Paint Night' tomorrow, Monday March 5th. If your child is signed up but is no longer attending, please update the signupgenius and remove your information. This will make it easier to determine how many open wait list spots we have for the night. Wait list will be notified as soon as possible. Thank you!

Thank you!!
Box Tops Update
Thank you to everyone who submitted Box Tops so far this year. Our total for this second submission was $548.90. Therefore, our combined total for this year was $1463.20. We fell a little short of our $2000 goal; however, we this was an awesome year and we hope to continue to build on our total in the future. This is a great way to support our PTA.
Shout out to Lindsay Villnave for coordinating! Highly appreciated. We will continue to collect Box Tops throughout the remainder of the year - so please keep those submissions coming in.
Don't forget... Once a month the PTA has a raffle for students whose families submit BoxTops where the top three winners earn "Dragon Bucks" for the School Store.
Thank you!
BOOK FAIR INFORMATION
The Book Fair will be open until 8:00PM on Thursday, March 15th for the convenience of parent(s)/ guardian(s).
Link: MCAS Schedule
This year our students will be taking the MCAS on the computer. This is a change for our students as we have historically completed MCAS testing using paper/ pencil materials. As is true with any change, there will be some challenges associated with our transition to the computer based platform. As a staff, we will be working together to support our students through this change.
For more information on MCAS, please see the link from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
Worcester Bravehearts Reading Program
Students who were interested had the opportunity to bring home bookmarks from the Worcester Bravehearts this week regarding the reading program this spring. This is completely VOLUNTARY and if students want to participate the Bravehearts have really streamlined the process this year. Students need only log into the following website: www.tickettoread.net in order to log their reading and prizes will be sent home directly from the team!
Note: We have plenty of bookmarks left if any students didn't receive one.
