Message from the Principal
Hello Wildcats-
Well, week one is in the books! I know that there have been lots of technology challenges for some but I think it was to be expected. There is a lot to learn and we'll all get better the more we practice.
This week I wanted to let you know about some changes you may have noticed around our Specials (PE, Music and STEAM). To meet the requirements of reduced class sizes in elementary schools, we placed half our district specialists into classroom teacher positions. We were lucky enough to keep the amazing Mrs. McKean in first grade at CFT and we still have two awesome Specialists- Mrs. Sakaguchi for PE and Mrs. Arnold for music. They will be working with CFT 2 weeks at a time since they now split time between us and Byrom Elementary. Their lessons will be in your student's Canvas Dashboard.
I would also like to draw your attention to the work our staff have been doing around Teaching Tolerance and Social Justice. Our equity coordinator, Mrs. Fischer, and a team of teachers have developed several tools and resources to help our teachers with these discussions. As the fall moves forward, they will begin to talk more about Race, Citizenship and Identity. If you have questions or thoughts about this work as we go, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Once we get going, we will be offering community conversations and parent leadership opportunities around these same topics.
Again, we know that not everything has been perfect but we are committed to learning and getting better. It has been AWESOME reconnecting with your students and we are excited about the fall!
Have a great weekend.

Mensaje del director
Hola Wildcats-
