Although we may encounter obstacles that test our character and make us question our resolve today, tomorrow is a new day; full of hope and promise.

Winter Concert Performance Update
Our "Sounds of the Season" concert will be held on Monday, December 14th in the CHS Auditorium. Because current public health and district policies limit require that we limit audience size, we will be dividing the concert into two smaller events. The first concert will begin at 6:30 PM and feature Choraliers, Cantare!, Shades of Blue, and the CHS Chamber Singers. The second performance will begin at approximately 7:15 PM and feature our Varsity Ensembles and a second performance by Shades of Blue and the Chamber Singers. Students selected to sing solos for this year's winter concert will perform at the concert in which their primary ensemble is featured.
All seating will be reserved and digital tickets must be secured by all attendees prior to attending this event. Under current guidelines, audience capacity is limited to no more than 35%. All audience members and performers will be required to wear a mask during their time on campus. Hand sanitization stations and one-way entrances and exits will also be employed to promote public safety and limit physical contact between guests attending this event.
While tickets for this concert are free, they must be reserved in advance. Reservations may be made using the link below starting on Monday, Nov. 30th.
Students will observe all public health and required safety protocols related to masks, social distancing, and personal hygiene before, during, and after the performance. More detailed information related to student rehearsals for this performance and other safety protocols required for this event will be shared via email by Wednesday of this week.
In the meantime, any parents/students that have not yet returned their Winter Concert Performance Survey as asked to do so TODAY by clicking the link below.

Winter Concert Solo Auditions
Each year we feature student soloists performing winter/holiday-themed music for performance on our Winter Concert. Auditions for this year's holiday performances will take place via Flip Grid. Students will learn and prepare a solo then turn in their recordings to Mr. Cooley via FlipGrid for review and consideration.
General Guidelines
All students (unless they choose to accompany themselves) should plan to audition using an accompaniment track. This means they should not include the voices of the main performer or an instrument playing the melody with them throughout the performance. Links to the karaoke tracks should be shared with Mr. Cooley in the comments section of the FlipGrid video submission screen.
Music may be in any style genre for this performance. Please reference THIS LIST for songs that should be avoided. As you make your song selections, please know that we will not feature a song more than once. Should students audition the same song, the best performance (stage presence, vocals, etc.) will be selected.
