Student Portfolios
In the past, only professions like model, graphic designer, or artist, required portfolios. With the increase in technology, more professions are asking applicants for previous work. Some schools ask teacher applicants to show portfolios of lesson plans while many colleges require applicants to show digital work for admittance to special programs.
As we prepare our students for the future, having students create a portfolio of their work is an impactful suggestion. With so much of the our students' work already stored in digital form, it would be a breeze for them to turn that work in to a portfolio. User friendly tools, like Google Drive Sites, can easily store and organize their digital work.
Student creations that students should keep for their portfolio:
- Research papers
- Project presentations
- Videos
- Infographics
- Project planning
Students want great samples of their learning to share with prospective colleges and employers. It's like a resume, but better.
