Important Traffic Flow Change for Car Riders/Walkers
Dear Trumbauersville Families,
If you have been part of our car rider or walker dismissals recently, you will know that adjustments are needed. Prior to the snow, I had communicated (Most recently this was in our January 15th Trumbauersville Times.) about being increasingly concerned with students and parents who are crossing over Woodview Dr. at the end of the day without using the identified crosswalks. Now with the large amount of snow, there are even more challenges; the snow is limiting space on the side of the road and covering parking spots in our lot.
Why is the dismissal time more crowded this year? Due to families opting out of bus transportation because of COVID, we have an extremely large number of car riders. Currently, we have 55 walkers, 185 bus riders, and 126 car riders.
While we work to have the car rider dismissal line move as quickly as is orderly possible, we recognize that it takes a few minutes. Since the parking lot is busy, families of walkers are parking on Woodview Dr. across from the school and then students and parents are crossing the road. This is causing a dangerous situation where individuals are crossing in the middle of the road at a high volume time and between stopped or parked cars. Moreover, the recent snow is limiting the width of Woodview. Therefore, I am asking that no one park on Woodview Drive. Parked cars there create a problematic pinch point! Instead, I am opening the playground area for additional overflow parking. If cars park according to the diagram below we will have space for approximately 25 more cars.
The playground is open for parking starting at 1:45 PM. If you are driving to pick-up a walker, please park on the playground. In addition, if you are driving to pick-up a car rider, please consider parking on the playground and walking up to the auditorium doors to meet your child.
Lastly, I am asking all traffic to turn right when leaving the school parking lot on Woodview Drive. By approaching the school on Woodview Dr. from Evergreen Drive and turning right into the pick-up line and then turning to the right when exiting the school, we will increase the ease of the traffic flow.
I am grateful to the Trumbauersville Borough for the addition of the speed humps on Woodview Dr., a few years ago. Those have definitely helped to make the road in front of our school safer for our school community. Now, with the collective attention to not parking on Woodview Dr. and to the use of the crosswalks, when needed, we will further enhance the safety and the efficiency of the traffic for the dismissal window.

Knowledge Fair
Students are invited to demonstrate their KNOWLEDGE and show what they know, choosing from any area of the school’s curriculum.
This is our sixth year with this initiative, so we’ve provided suggestions for each grade level as “thought starters.” Discuss possible ideas for a project with your child! Have your child pick a topic he or she is super interested in. BE CREATIVE with the presentation and keep it student focused.
This is an opportunity for our students to show their enthusiasm for learning and share their knowledge, not a competition.
Please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you need additional information about a project idea.

Over the past few years, QCSD has been using LinkIt! to organize our student assessment data and more recently, to have students take their benchmark assessments within that system. LinkIt! has a Parent Portal that we are now opening up to you in order to view your student’s assessment data. As students take new assessments, they will be added to the portal for your viewing as well. Currently, 2020-2021 benchmark data from the fall and winter will be available. In the summer of 2021, historical assessment data will also be available.
You will receive an email directly from LinkIt! to set up your account in the next 24 hours. The email address on file in Powerschool is the email address used to create the new parent portal account. Please check your SPAM/junk if you do not receive it. QCSD will support initial setup, but password support is done directly through the LinkIt! website. Once you successfully login, you will be able to access your student’s data and scores. Information about the LinkIt! Parent Portal can be found on the QCSD website.
To learn more about LinkIt!, please use a few of the resources found below.
