8.RL.1.A Use context to determine the figurative meanings of words or phrases.

8RL1B: Determine the meaning of words and phrases are they are used in the text; including figurative and connotative meanings using context, affixes, or references materials. I can also use prefixes to figure out meanings of words. The prefixes are -under, terr-, -photo, and -graph

## PHYSICAL SCIENCE

__Objectives:__

* Analyze and interpret data on the properties of substances before and after interactions to determine if a chemical reaction as occurred.

* Develop and use a model to describe how the total number of atoms remains the same during a chemical reaction and thus mass is conserved.

** Monday**: What's in the bag activity: Learn the difference between physical and chemical properties of matter.

** Tuesday**—Stations Day --Chemical or Physical Reactions

What a week! Your student worked with the HS counselors on Monday, started the Jacksonian Democracy Tuesday and continued to work on it Friday.
