As many of you know the Moberly Sr. High School has recently had a Wi-Fi change and with that came many misconceptions. There have been numerous rumors circulating through the hallways of MHS leaving many students trying to decipher what truly happened. A few of the popular rumors consisted of punishments, safety issues, and all the way to the school purchasing a data blocker. Therefore, your MHS Student Senate made it their goal to nix the rumors and let the student body know what really happened.
To begin eliminating all of the hearsay, I went straight to the source to find answers. Our school principal, Mr. Jones, let me know that the Wi-Fi “disappearance” was a planned event all along. As our school went one-to-one this school year we required a stronger Wi-Fi to support all of the new Chromebooks. With this statement alone we can now rule out the majority of the prior theories. No, it was not a punishment due to hacking, no it was not because of a safety issue, and no there is not a “data blocker”. In fact, data blockers are illegal. The school is a metal building, therefore, at certain points, you may not receive strong service.
Mr. Jones felt it was extremely important to inform everyone that while he wishes his “snaps” could be sent as well, this is a building for learning, and ensuring a well-rounded education. An example he used within our meeting was that McDonald's provides Wi-Fi to draw in customers, our school provides Wi-Fi to ensure a good learning environment. With that, any not school-related activity requiring Wi-Fi can be done on the guest Wi-Fi. Yes, the school is aware it is not the strongest, although, it can perform the necessities when being not school related. Thank you all for taking the time to hear the truth about MHS Wi-Fi.

Margaret: Always remember to respect other's opinions. If the classmate becomes an issue, speak with a teacher or a counselor if necessary.
Anonymous: What are the best ways to study for classes I have trouble in?
Margaret: Try different study habits! Everybody learns differently, so you should find out what works for you, and make a habit of it.
Anonymous: I'm always stressed out during class, and it seems like my teacher never considers their students outside of school, how do I deal with that situation?
Margaret: Try just communicating with your teacher, they will be willing to listen to you and help you to the best of their ability. They may be busy at times, but they always will be welcoming towards a student in need.
