News from the Olympia Unitarian Universalist Congregation
Worship Service June 6 - one online service at 10:00 am
We’ll enjoy a music service, “Music Is Storytelling,” offered by Music Director, Troy Fisher, the OUUC choir, congregational soloists, and guest musicians. Music has an incredible power to change a person.

Thursday Evening Spiritual Practice
This Thursday at 7:00 pm plan to join Rev. Mary, Sara, and Troy for an exploration of the June spiritual theme of “Play.” It’s a great theme as we head into Summer! It will be our last evening spiritual practice until Fall, and please know that you can find recordings of many of this past year’s Thursday evening spiritual practice offerings on the OUUC website.

Creating Flower Communion Together
I can't wait to see what we create together! Thank you! - Rev. Mary
Talk Show Guest - Bernie Brady
The “After Church with Melanie Ransom” talk show IS BACK this Sunday with special guest, Bernie Brady. Bernie is a long-time member of OUUC, and currently leads the men’s group, “TGIT”. This is your chance to discover how your life might overlap with Bernie’s. Did you happen to grow up in Chicago? The show starts at 11:30 am after the coffee chats. The following Sunday I’ll talk with Ginny Taylor. Many of us come to OUUC for the theology, but we stay because of our life-long connections to the people. – Melanie Ransom
VME Ice Cream Celebration – Sunday, June 6, 3:30 to 4:30 pm
It’s time for the party! We will be serving ice cream bars and invite you to drive through and take your ice cream with our gratitude or park in the upper or side lot and visit with friends while you enjoy your ice cream in the lower parking lot. Safety is important so we ask that masks be worn unless you are eating ice cream. Social distancing also remains important. There is an option of leaving the parking lot at the lower gate and walking back to your car on the sidewalk. This alternative route could avoid uncomfortable congestion if too many folks are returning to their cars at the same time. An added attraction is that Joe Joy will be setting up a table for battery and fluorescent bulb collection! We are so grateful for our thoughtful and committed community. You are the BEST!
Tell us what you think!
As we prepare to re-open the OUUC building and gather again, we'd like to hear from you about your preferences and wishes for a safe return to in-person community life. This link will take you to a short survey about re-opening.
If you have questions or have anything else you'd like to share, please feel free to reach out to me.
Thank you in advance for helping us plan wisely and safely.

A Few Words from OUUC’s Parish Nurse
Our Parish Nurse, Ann Yeo, summarizes key information and recommendations from the May 26 Letter to the Community by the Thurston County Health Officer, Dr. Abdelmalek:
· We still have significant COVID-19 transmission in our county; the majority of our population is not yet vaccinated; therefore, most people should still be wearing masks. Because it can be difficult to know who is vaccinated and who is not unless vaccination status is verified, we should all exercise caution - Read more....
