St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 10 | 24 SEPTEMBER 2020
We thank you Lord, for this term.
For our challenges, our successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt. Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends. ... Help us to appreciate what others do for us and afford us time to help those in need.
Keep us safe over the holidays as we rest and prepare us for a busy term ahead.
Amen
Message form the Principal
The holidays are finally here after what has been a very different Term 3 to a ‘normal’
Term 3. Thank you to our families for observing the COVID-19 school protocols during
the term. I will advise families next term about the new school COVID-19 protocols after
the Premier announces the new rules on 24 October. These protocols will be emailed out to
families and placed on Facebook on Monday 26 October.
Many thanks to Mr Chatt and Mrs Wilkes for organising and running the Athletics Carnival
last Friday. It was an outstanding success and parents commented on how well organised
it was. It was also great to have all of the classes participating on the bottom oval.
This made it much easier for families to watch all of their children's events from the limestone walls. The students were extremely well behaved and were very encouraging to their fellow competitors. Great sportsmanship was shown. We were also very lucky to have such good weather on the day. A great day was had by all.
In Term 4 the school will be involved in a Cyclical Review which all Catholic Schools participate in every five years. An outside panel comes into the school and meets with the Principal, Staff,
Students, School Board and a small group of parents/carers. Their brief is to look at what the
school does for continual self-improvement. It is a two day process and will happen on
November 2 and 3.
A reminder to families that there are still a significant number of school fees outstanding.
Please finalise prior to the end of the holidays or advise the office of your payment plan
for the remainder of the year.
I wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back
on Monday October 12, as there is no pupil free day at the start of Term 4.
God Bless and keep safe.
