Regional Library Training

The South Dakota State Library is excited to facilitate regional library training sessions in four regions of the state. These trainings are an opportunity for library directors, staff, and trustees to learn and network. All sessions are 10am - 3pm local time. The topic for 2023’s regional library training is strategic planning.

2023 dates and locations:

  • March 29 at K.O. Lee Library, Aberdeen
  • April 4 at the State Library, Pierre
  • April 6 at Mitchell Public Library
  • April 14 at Sturgis Public Library

From 10am - 1pm will be a formal presentation on strategic planning. Then, from 1 - 3pm will be a working lunch and networking opportunity with fellow librarians.

Participants can earn up to 5 CE hours. In-person participation is highly encouraged, but there will be an online option as well. Participants should plan to bring a laptop or device, as several resources will be made available online.
