Save The Embryos!
Save An Embryo, Save A Life.
What are stem cells?
A stem cell is an undifferentiated cell that of a multicellular organism that is capable of giving rise to indefinitely more cells of the same type, and from which certain other kinds of cell arise by differentiation.
Where do they come from?
Embryonic stem cells come from embryos that are three to five days old. At this stage, an embryo is called a blastocyst and has about 150 cells.
How can they be used to treat diseases?
Embryonic stem cells are pluripotent, which means they're more versatile and capable of producing any type of cell in the body. Some diseases are caused by a lack of certain cells, or damaged ones. Stem cells can be used to replace the unwanted cells.
STE, Save The Embryos
STE is a corporation that uses adult stem cells for research and aid. Because adult stem cells are multipotent, limited to replacing cells in the tissues in which they were found, some people are trying to push the use of embryonic stem cells. STE is 100% against the use of embryonic stem cell use. The corporation feels they would harm lives and start another controversy.
