Face to Face Quality Assurance

Thursday, May 23rd, 1-3pm

4-H Building - York County Fairgrounds

The 4-H member must sign up online and pay the YQCA Fee of $3.00 BEFORE the training. To sign up for the face to face training, you must go to https://learngrow.io . The training will cost $3 payable by credit or debit card on the website. (We cannot take the $3 payment in person; all families must register and pay online.) Then at the training, you will pay Nebraska Extension – York County $5. You must sign in as proof of attendance. After the training, Tanya will go in and issue the certification.

All youth ages 8-18 enrolled in any of the following animal projects will need to complete YQCA training: • Beef (bucket calf, feeder calf, breeding beef, market beef) • Dairy cattle • Goat (breeding meat goat, dairy goat, meat goat) • Poultry • Rabbit • Sheep (breeding sheep, market sheep) • Swine (breeding swine, market swine)

Youth must be currently enrolled at https://ne.4honline.com


In York County, youth may choose one of two options to complete their YQCA requirements:


• Complete online training at https://yqca.learngrow.io. Cost is $12. For directions and more information, visit https://4h.unl.edu/yqca. Once training is complete, send completed certificates to Tanya Crawford, tanya.crawford@unl.edu or drop off at the Extension Office. If certificates are not submitted, we have no way of knowing if trainings have been completed. No certificate = No Certification

2019 Fair Books Are Here!

The York County Fair is Aug. 1-4, 2019! The printed Fair Books have just arrived in our office.

Fairbooks can be picked up at the Extension Office, Local Banks, Kilgore Memorial Library, Wagner's Decorating, Eakes Office Supply, North Office Supply, Grand Central, York News Times, the York County Courthouse, and the York Area Chamber Office.

Clover Cookies

Learn the cookie baking basics. We will make a variety of cookie recipes from Road to Good Cooking and Cooking 101 to practice for fair. This workshop is open to both Clover Kid and traditional 4-H members!

For Ages 6 and Older

Fee: $10

Platte County Flood Relief Opportunity

Put your hands to larger service by helping support flood relief efforts. We are gathering a team of York County 4-H members to volunteer in Platte County on May 24. Volunteer positions are currently being assigned based on need in the county and York County 4-H'ers have the opportunity to be involved.

Our office will be volunteering that day and you are still welcome to come with us! Just let us know this week if you want to be part of our group!

Volunteers must be 13 years old. Transportation will be provided.

Camper Spots

County Fair camper spots are now available! The cost is $75 per spot. Spots are available the Sunday before the fair through the Sunday of fair. Payment must be received in order to complete your reservation. They are reserved on a first come, first served basis. Call the Extension Office to reserve your spot! 402-362-5508

County Fair Wood Cut-Outs

This year's County Fair Wood Cut-Out will be a tractor. They will be available for pick up by June 1. Call the Extension Office to reserve you cut-out. There will be 6 available for clubs or individuals to decorate for fair.
