Absence Reporting
If your child has any symptoms (including non-Covid symptoms), the only way to report the student's absence is by using this link. You will need to complete this by 8:30 a.m. anytime your student will be absent because of illness. If multiple students from your household will be absent due to illness, you will need to complete it once for each student. This link is available on the Lakeview website as well as in this family newsletters. This will help us be more responsive to you, our families, with our Covid protocols.
The link for absence reporting will stay on the Lakeview homepage as well as in the family newsletter each week.
If your student is not missing school due to symptoms (for example, a dentist appointment or a family vacation), please continue to call the Lakeview office directly.
4K Registration for 22-23 is now open
To be in 4K next year, the child must be 4 years old on or before September 1st. All day 4K is available at all four elementary schools and half day 4K is available at Blakewood. Although it is not "first come, first served" our 4K programs will fill up quickly, especially the all-day 4K programs. So it is best to get your registration in right now instead of waiting.
Here is a link to the information about 4K registration. All incoming 4K students are registered as "new students" (rather than "adding a student to your family).
Contact Lakeview if you have any questions about 4K registration for 2022-2023.
This Week's Golden Lions!
There were 26 Golden Lions awarded to students since our last newsletter. Here are the descriptions for each of those Golden Lions. Our students demonstrate GREAT character at Lakeview!
• Yesterday at lunch Landen said, "Thank you for everything you do for us." Wow, that is so kind Landen!
• Eleanora displayed great kindness with a student who was having a difficult time staying settled during our music rehearsal. She very quietly encouraged and guided the student to regulate their body and ouput their energy in a different manner. Eleanora this is an incredible display of kindness and acceptance. Thank you for being such an amazing classmate!
• Charlotte was so intent to finish her writing piece and do her best work that she even asked politely to be able to stay in for lunch recess to finish her work. She also again used her manners and thanked Mrs. Sodemann for allowing her to come in during her lunch period. That shows great responsibility and also respect for someone else's time.
• Ameerah completed her Lexia minutes over spring break. Way to stay engaged!

• Eleanora is a kind, respectful student. She always says hello to me when I see her daily and is a great line leader that I can count on to follow the Lakeview expectations. Thank you Eleanora!

• The students had to finish their math papers before they could line up for recess. Ava was finished with her work. Another student was almost done, but was having trouble explaining how she knew the answers. Ava took the time and talked to that student about even and odd numbers. That was a kind and helpful thing to do Ava. Thank you!

• Besim worked incredibly hard on his 5 paragraph essay writing assignment. He took the time to follow the proper writing structure, and add transitions and details. It took time, but it was worth it! By the time he finished, he had very minimal edits and he was ready to publish! Besim has shown incredible growth in his writing, and we couldn't be more proud of him!
