What is the Debbie MacFarland-Corrigan Lacrosse-a-thon?
The Debbie MacFarland-Corrigan Lacrosse-a-thon is a ten-team play day. On Saturday, April 20, 2013, the girls lacrosse teams from Springfield Township High School, Abington High School, Lower Moreland High School, Penn-Wood High School, and the Spartan Girls Lacrosse Club will all take part in lacrosse games to raise funds for the American Cancer Society on behalf of Debbie MacFarland-Corrigan.

Debbie MacFarland-Corrigan
Deb MacFarland-Corrigan was a graduate of Enfield Elementary and Springfield Middle and High Schools. She was a gifted athlete and honor student who was valedictorian and president of her 1991 class. After graduating from the University of Richmond, where she earned a degree in psychology, Deb returned to Springfield and taught kindergarten and third grade at the Erdenheim Campus, while coaching lacrosse at Springfield Township Middle School. On February 5, 2002, Deb died after a courageous and hard fought battle with Hodgkin’s disease. She was 29 years old. During her illness, she continued to be a positive role model to her students as well as to her colleagues. Deb was a remarkable young woman and talented teacher and coach whose legacy lives on in Springfield Township.
