Where are we now?
Even in present day African American music still shows the scars of oppression, all of which aren’t fully healed. America has made monumental progress in guaranteeing every American citizen equal rights and protection; however, not all ideas die easily. Still there are issues of police brutality against minorities, ethnical prejudices in the workplace, and stereotyping of ethnicities. All of which have been said to “pass with time” but still this poses a question of exactly how much time has to pass before there’s an end to this seemingly never ending cycle?
