2018-2019 DECA Deadlines!
Last day to join DECA for the 2018-2019 school year is October 1st! Please especially remind students who will not have a Marketing class until the spring they need to join by October 1!
Compete in District Conference for a chance to compete at State and Nationals in Orlando, FL this year!
DECA District Competition
See a marketing teacher ASAP for information on our DECA District Conference! It will be held at Nissan Stadium on Tuesday January 29th. Click here to see the role play events available.
- Students enrolled (or that will be enrolled in the spring) in their first marketing class are eligible to participate in the Principles, Series, and Team Decision Making events.
- Students taking their second marketing class this year are eligible to participate in Series and Team Decision Making events.
The cost for the District Competition will be $40, which includes the cost of registration, a favor, your meal and charter bus transportation to and from Nissan stadium that day. We have a limited amount of spots which are first come first serve! The tentative date for online testing is January 8th in the SCHS library.
Just a reminder! If we have snow and school is cancelled the day of Districts, those who advance on to the state competition will be determined only through test scores, so study hard!
We would like to strongly encourage everyone who would like to compete this year to sign up for our Mock competition. Info on Mock competition will be coming soon.

2018-2019 DECA Projects Highlights
Independent Business Plan
We are going to start a nonprofit organization called Guard Up. The goal of this organization is to stop or prevent a potential rape case. We will send volunteers to countries with the highest rape rates to teach women and children how to defend themselves in case a situation like this ever occurs. Guard Up hopes that by teaching women and children these different tactics, rape rates will gradually go down.Creative Marketing Project
For our DECA project, we are focusing on the non-profit organization, Young Life. We are working towards promoting the organization in our school and other schools in the area. A major objective of ours is to increase attendance at Young Life Clubs this school year. We want to make the goals of Young Life clear to the students of Station Camp High School. Growing and improving Young Life is our main focus, and we hope to execute this by conducting research, analyzing the research conducted, and learning the correct way to implement that research. Including chapter members in our project is of major importance to us, and their help and support is greatly appreciated.Business Service Operations Research Project
This year in Station Camp DECA’s Business Services Operations Research Project, Sophie Harris, Zack Morgan, and Bill Mouchette are partnering with locally based Garrott Brothers Continuous Mix Concrete to research how cause marketing could positively affect the company. The group has decided to specifically focus on the effects of Garrott Brothers giving to local CTE and technical programs in the Nashville area. The project requires the team to conduct research methods such as interviews with Garrott Brothers executives and Davidson, Sumner, and Trousdale County CTE directors, surveys of students in technical programs across the three counties, a focus group of Garrott Brothers customers, and a SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis of supporting these programs. After the team completes their research they must formulate a cause marketing plan that will help increase Garrott Brothers public image and also help increase the quality of technical education that students receive in the community. The project is of course theoretical, but helps educate these three students on technical education, cause marketing, the concrete industry, and how to properly manage their time to build a successful project from the ground up.
Stampede Stop Shop
The Stop Shop is constantly in the process of creating new items to be sold to our students! If you have ideas for new designs or merchandise, write them down or sketch out your design and turn it in at the Stop Shop! We love to see our students' creative ideas! Maybe your design will be sold next!
Come by the Stop Shop and fill your closet with school spirit. The stampede stops here, come by and get your bison gear.
