LMS 7th Texas History Update
All you need to know about Texas History Class.
Welcome Class of 2023!
This year in Social Studies we will focus on the history and geography of Texas. We will also develop social studies skills to carry forward to the next level. Students will be reading and writing about our social studies topics.
We started the year looking at the geography of Texas. Students learned about the 4 major regions of Texas - Coastal Plains, Central Plains, Great Plains and Mountains and Basins. We looked at the physical and human characteristics and geographic features of each region.

Chromebooks
Little Elm ISD is a Digital 1:1 district. This means each student grades 4-12 will be issued a computer to use throughout the school year. For complete details about the student laptop program, please click here.
We do not have a traditional textbook for Texas History. We depend on students having their computer to get access to needed information. So not having a computer is not a good option for students.
There is a Device Protection Plan fee per student. Please click here for pricing details.
You may start paying this fee immediately. Here are payment options:
- Online through MySchool Bucks
- In the front office with cash or check.

Communication Methods
Remind
Remind is a safe way for teachers to text message and email students and parents. This allows me to send messages via email or text without me viewing your email or number and vice versa which insures privacy for everyone involved. However this does not allow students or parents to contact me so it will be used more for simple messages such as test reminders and other important information.

I will also occasionally post a picture so you can see our learning in action! If you do not want your student’s picture posted let me know. As a parent, I know that when we ask “What did you do at school today?” the usual answer is “Nothing.” I hope you find this a great way to keep informed about what your student is learning at school.
