Updates
Happy July 4th (a few days late!) I hope you are all having an amazing and wonderful summer and that you are able to spend some fun time with your families. I have just returned from the National Association of Elementary School Principals conference in Long Beach, CA and am so excited for next year. I cannot wait to put into practice some of the great things that were shared with me.
Just a quick message for you with a few activities and fun links I have run across this summer so far.
We are looking forward to an amazing year coming up! We are spending much of the summer tightening things up and making great plans for next year, but we aren't quite there yet. Mr. Missig and Mrs. Lobocki will not be returning in the fall. We wish them the very best and thank them for their time, effort and service to St. Mary Rockwood! I have a few meetings this week and early next week and I should be able to send out tentative teaching assignments to the teachers and to you so you can prepare for the 2015-2016 school year :)
We will not be using PowerSchool next year, but will have a great new (and much easier to use) system called SchoolSpeak. Mrs. Heggie, Mr. Grima and I are being trained on it next week and we will be sending home more information as soon as we have it. We cannot wait to share it with you. It will also correspond to our new school-wide Virtues program Disciple of Christ - Education in Virtue.
The first day of school will be August 25, 2015. We cannot wait to see you there! This is shaping up to be a great one. God Bless you in your travels and your time with your children this summer, and you will be hearing from us throughout the summer with updates and information just as soon as we have it!
