Sycamore Junior High

Students and staff have been enjoying watching the new Sycamore Junior High being constructed just behind their school. Masonry is already beginning on the main gym area as metal stud framing begins on the first-floor classroom areas. The foundation is being poured for the new portion where the old auditorium existed.

School-Based Therapists Services

Sycamore Community Schools continues to collaborate with Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Mindpeace to give students and families access to mental health services. We are pleased to have nine licensed school-based therapists serving students at each of our seven schools this year.

The partnership between Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Sycamore Community Schools has no financial impact on the district. Therapists in our buildings are employed by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Medicaid, private insurance, and private pay options are discussed privately between the family and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

If you would like additional information or to contact the therapist(s) serving students in your building, please visit our website. If you would like more information about our mental health services or have specific questions, please contact Lisa Zelvy, Pupil Services Supervisor, at zelvyl@sycamoreschools.org or (513) 686-1700.

Nationwide Food Shortages Impacting Sycamore Child Nutrition

There are nationwide food shortages that have been heavily affecting our kitchens so far this school year due to unavailable items or last-minute replacements by the distributors/manufacturers. This is a reminder that menus are subject to change, as always, but more than ever this school year. We will do our best to provide timely notification to families through the school when major outages occur affecting the menu(s), especially at the k-4 level where there are only two options daily. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Menus can be found HERE or on the Sycamore App.
