Ridgeview’s Rattlin’ Readers!
August 25, 2014
Dear Ridgeview Ratters,
Ridgeview Library is rattling and ready for readers, and I am thrilled to be your librarian! My hope for this year is that you will become an expert at choosing, using, and reading all the great items we have to offer.
The library is open from 7:30am-3:30pm. You will be visiting me weekly with your class for a lesson and check-out time. Also, you are allowed to come to the library at 7:30am or stay until 3:30pm if you are accompanied by your parent or guardian.
Books and magazines may be checked out for two weeks, but you can bring them back sooner if you like. Kindergarteners and First Graders may check out one item. Second, Third, and Fourth Graders can check out two items. Please remember to take good care of the item that you have borrowed and to be responsible about turning it in on time. A fine of $.05 per school day is charged for overdue items (1st-4th grades only, no fines accrue in kindergarten) and items must be turned in before you can check out others. You must pay a replacement cost for lost or damaged books. I know how much fun it is to check books and magazines out, so make sure you keep your library record clear and up to date!
It is very important to talk softly, walk nicely, show good manners, and take care of equipment while in the library. This is a great place to read, do research, and to learn so we must make sure that we always follow the rules.
I look forward to teaching you how to use our resources and develop a love of reading when you visit the RES Library this year. Your family is encouraged to use the library and parent/grandparent volunteers are welcome and appreciated! Volunteer information is available through the PTA. Stay tuned for coming attractions like Reading Olympics, Book Fairs, and Visiting Authors! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mrs. Hibbitts, MLS
