A weekly update from the West Bloomfield School District
May 22, 2020
In the West Bloomfield School District, we've begun preparations for next fall; while there are many unknowns, it is clear student learning will need to evolve. Please visit www.wbsd.org/c2c for more information and updates as our plans develop.
Thank you to those who attended our C2C Community Presentations on May 21 and 22.
Please find our recording from May 21 below.
C2C Media Coverage:
Meal Service Information
The district will be offering our Meal Service program over Spring Break as well. Preorder forms are available for May 18-31 at www.wbsd.org/mealservice.
Remember! The district recently transitioned to Meal Service pick-ups three days per week. Families will still receive seven days worth of food per child with pick-ups on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week. Pick-Ups will still take place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. each pick-up day at your pick-up location (Roosevelt Elementary or OLMS).
SchoolMessenger SMS Messaging Support - Opt In
Our district recently started to utilize the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages, straight to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts and more. This resource is on top of the emails and phone messages you already receive from SchoolMessenger.
You can participate in this service just by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our district’s short code number, 67587.
You can also opt-out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our
messages with “Stop”.
SchoolMessenger is compliant with the Student Privacy PledgeTM, so you can rest assured that your information is safe and will never be given or sold to anyone.

WB Township Library Information
News from the West Bloomfield Township Public Library Update
We know you want access to materials from the large collections in our Library buildings. However, based on Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Executive Orders 2020-69 and 2020-77, public libraries must still suspend all service.
We continue to plan for a gradual phased reopening of the Main Library and Westacres Branch, and we hope the Governor’s next set of orders will allow us to begin Phase 1 of resuming service.
Phase 1 of reopening includes:
- Opening book drops so all materials checked out before we closed can be returned. NO OVERDUE FINES will be assessed for these returned materials.
- Resuming service from the Drive-Up Service Window at the Main Library.
- Allowing holds to be placed on materials.
- Providing parking lot pick-up (a no contact to-go service) for materials you request through the online catalog, by phone, by email or chat.
One of our goals now, and when we resume service, is the continued health and safety of our community and staff. Please check our website and follow the Library on social media for the latest information about when we will begin Phase 1 of reopening.
