3rd Grade
Newsletter for June 2, 2017
From the Teacher's Pen
We are on the home stretch. I am very proud of how the 3rd graders are still putting a lot of effort into their classwork. During these last 2 weeks attendance is important. I am trying to give the students enough review and study time in preparation for end-of-unit assessments, time to complete multiplication requirements, and time to reach the A.R. reading requirement of 10 points.
Artists and Authors Fair
We look forward to seeing as many of you as can make an appearance. Come for a few minutes or longer. You will be informed, amused, impressed and hopefully persuaded by 3rd grade writings.
- Monday, June 5th 9:00 am until 2:00
- Student artwork will be displayed in the hallway.
- Student written work will be on their desks.
Rights and Responsibilities
It took us a while to get there but we have completed our note-taking and discussion of civics. In small groups, the 3rd graders are putting their learning into song form to perform for the 7th graders who are wrapping up their civics study. They might perform for you during Artists & Authors Fair. Who knows?!
Mad Minutes
We will continue with mad minute timings for as long as we can to enable all students to reach the goal of fluency and understanding of multiplication up to the 12s. Students who are able to complete 30 mixed facts (through level B45), will receive a +3 on their report card. Those who have not yet achieved fluency to B45 will receive a +2 final grade. All students need to continue practicing multiplication through the summer
