Summer Digital Resources
Longhorns, it is free to sign up for a San Antonio Public Library card and for a BiblioTech digital card. Please get your parent's permission before register for any of these services.

Sora is Always Open!
Did you know you can check out additional ebooks and audiobooks using Sora, our digital library? Instructions on downloading the app and how to login if you are not in your NISD student portal are below.
- Go to sorapp.com or download the free app for Android and Apple.
- Teachers, look for our district once you locate it; just login in with e # & password.
- Student usernames are their s number with the "s" and you're assigned password.
- Sora is also used by the San Antonio Public Library so you can add SAPL to your NISD SORA App!

American Library Association Reading Lists and Award-winning Books
Parents, click to learn about YALSA select reading lists the best books and media for teens. Whether you're looking for a book for a reluctant or avid teen reader, there's sure to be a title that will fit the bill. While these books have been selected for teens from 12 to 18 years of age, the award-winning titles and the titles on YALSA's selected lists span a broad range of reading and maturity levels. We encourage adults to take an active role in helping individual teens choose those books that are the best fit for them and their families.
Also, YALSA has launched this new link just click on- Teen Book Finder Database, which is a one-stop shop for finding selected lists and award winners. Users can search this free resource by award, list name, year, author, genre and more, as well as print customizable lists. This new resource will replace the individual award and list web pages currently on YALSA’s site that are not searchable and that are organized only by year.

Reading Programs Around SA and Beyond!
BIBLIOTECH
This virtual program is open to all ages and allows anyone to participate with our handy online entry form found in link connected to Tails & Tales picture. The program will run from June 1 to August 6, with the leaderboards for each age range updated on the 1st and 15th of every month, both on our website as well as on our Facebook,Twitter and Instagram pages. Winners will be eligible for a gift card to H-E-B or Whataburger. Click "Learn More" below to find out how to earn points and come out on top!

Have you listened to Storyline Online!
Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration, and general academic aptitude, as well as inspire a lifelong love of reading. Teachers use Storyline Online in their classrooms, and doctors and nurses play Storyline Online in children’s hospitals. Storyline Online is available 24 hours a day for children, parents, caregivers and educators worldwide.
