Roman rights
Many roman citizens had limited rights, not all were equal. Geting all the rights meant that you could, vote, hold offices, governments, own propertys, write contracts, and go to court. Many people get married with roman citizens to earn their citizenship. If a women and a freedman have a child it becomes a full roman citizen.
Men
Have all rights.
Women
Limited rights, no voting or government offices.
Freedmen
People that used to be slaves and have limited rights.
Punishments for crimes
One of the many punishments is that if you kill your father, they cover your eyes and drown you. If you did a crime they would either beat you, banish you, make you into a slave, or kill you.
