Michelle, thank you for your help with setting up at school!
Words Matter Week was a success. Students hung wonderful notes of kindness on the tree.

PTA
Happy Valentine's Day! Thank you to student leadership for the candy grams! Parents and caregivers, your kids are awesome. Words Matter week was so sweet- the kids wrote the kindest messages on our Word Tree.
As a reminder, we are actively looking for volunteers to join the PTA for the 2022-23 school year. We have so many fun things planned for our kids, but we will not be able to continue to do them if we don’t get volunteer support. Please email dianafinster@gmail.com if you want to continue to see the fun events the PTA brings to our school.
We need your help at lunchtime! Alamo needs your help in making sure our kids are having a fun, friendly, and well-supervised lunch recess. Volunteering for yard duty is a great way for your child to see you helping out at school and a great way for you to see them in their element. Please consider giving less than an hour of your day by signing up here.
Run Clubbers! Get your sneakers on!!! Run Club meets before school @ 7:25am every Wednesday (except breaks and 5/11) on the lower blacktop. Thank you to Lisa Taylor for keeping our kids running!
Yearbooks are on sale now and we need your pics! Any Alamo families wishing to contribute to yearbook picture taking this year can snap pics at every Alamo School event, and share them via HJeshare.com, School Code AlamoYB. Please remember to include event names for our committee to organize them into the yearbook. If you still need to purchase a 2021/22 Yearbook, you can do so at yearbookordercenter.com, School Code 12361. For 5th grade families, you can purchase a personalized message with pics to your graduating 5th grader for an additional $25. Please email nicolerocca@gmail.com or ajitpalp@gmail.com with any questions.
Thank you,
Michelle Petersen and Nicole Rocca

Education Fund
We feel the love, Alamo! The Gott’s giveback raised a whopping $1546 for the Ed Fund! Thanks for your support and stay tuned for our next restaurant giveback night. We have many other retail programs that give back through your regular shopping-see below and here for more information!
5th Grade BINGO night: Tickets are on sale now for all 5th grade students to attend BINGO on Friday, March 4th, from 5:30-7:30 in the MPR. Visit this link to purchase.
Auction News: Last call for new and unused product donations for our Alamo Ed Fund online silent auction, which will be held from March 7 through March 15, 2022. Any and all donations are appreciated!
We also are in need of items for the live auction, to be held at Bocce, Bubbles and BBQ on May 21st. If you can donate or put us in contact with someone who has a vacation rental, tickets to local sporting events, rounds of golf or wine tasting experiences, please email alamo.edfundauction@srvef.org. Your business can also offset the cost of our events by becoming a sponsor. See this letter that was sent home for more information and to access links for donations and sponsors. Thanks in advance for your consideration and generosity!
Amazon Wish Lists: Don’t forget to check out our Amazon Wish List for items our teachers would like in their classrooms! There are lots of items listed for Beem/Bohannan, Johnson, Fettig, Mayer and Pavon/3rd grade team.
Farm Fresh to You: New and existing Farm Fresh to You customers can use promo code ALAMO to send 10% of every delivery back to the Ed Fund! This is a delivery service of organic produce boxes you can tailor to your family’s tastes and needs. Anyone in their delivery area (most of CA) can use the code, so share with family and friends! Whether you’re a new or existing customer, view this flyer, or check out their website to add in the promo code.
Sports Basement: It’s time for spring skiing and kids sports seasons! If you shop at Sports Basement and join their Basementeer program, you receive 10% off your order and 10% goes back to the charity of your choice. Select “Alamo Elementary-Alamo-SRVEF” to benefit the Alamo Education Fund!
Your Ed Fund Dollars at Work: We are busy taking photos of many of our staff members who are supported by your donations to the Ed Fund. Since parent access to campus is still quite limited, many of these individuals’ efforts are not as visible as in the past, but they are working harder than ever! This week we are highlighting Mrs. DaValle, one of our Reading Instructional Assistants.

Mrs. DaValle
This is Mrs. DaValle's first year working at Alamo School. She left teaching first grade to raise her five daughters but is now enjoying being back in the classroom with students! She works with small groups of first through fifth-grade reading intervention students at least three times a week for approximately 45 minutes each. This group was practicing sound spelling and writing dictated sentences. They had to check their work for "CAPS" - capitalization, appearance (was their work neat), punctuation, and spelling. So far this year, these lessons have been taking place in the library but have now moved into the resource room since construction is completed.
