Sunday Message
6/6/2021 vol. 38
It's hard to believe that this will be the last week of school. It will be a year to remember, but not one I ever want to repeat. Throughout it all, the students have been awesome about following our protocols and adapting to these strange times.
There is a lot of new and important information in this week's message. We have updates on Fun Run prizes, yearbooks, the 5th grade clap out, Chromebook returns, and our lost and found.
We also want to welcome our new PTC board members for the 21-22 school year. Our PTC at Twelve Bridges Elementary plays such a vital role in all we do. With that, I would like to thank our President, Leah Bassett, and our Vice President, Heather Manning, for all they have done for us these past two years. Both of these hard-working volunteers have been heavily involved in our school and will no longer have students at TBE. We can't thank you enough for all you have done! You have both been amazing to work with! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Let's have a great last week!
Mr. Middleton
CHROMEBOOK RETURNS!
Chromebook collection will take place this week! Please ensure that chromebooks are charged prior to returning them. They will need to be powered on during the return process. Don't forget to return the charger as well! There is a $45 fee if your charger is not returned. If you have more than one student with a chromebook, please pay special attention that you are returning the correct charger with each chromebook. We have several different types of chromebooks in circulation and each has their own unique charger.
Your child's teacher will be in touch to let you know their assigned day for chromebook returns. If you have an InterConnect student, chromebooks can be returned to the library on 6/11 (after school) or the following week, 6/14-6/16 between the hours of 8:00-3:00.
5th Grade Clap Out
Normally, we welcome parents onto campus to complete the clap out, but due to our COVID protocols, visitors are still not allowed on campus.
As our 5th grade students walk through our campus, we will lead them to the field at Twelve Bridges park. There, I will have a large corridor clearly marked off for our students to walk through and where parents can safely be a part of our clap out as they pick their 5th grader up from school for the last time. Please plan on being at the park by 11:45 if you would like to join us for the clap out to celebrate our 5th graders and wish them well as they head off to middle school.

Proof of Residency for current grades through 4th grade
Dear Parents/Guardians:
As part of our efforts to maximize our resources, we want to ensure that the students that we are serving are all residents of our attendance area or have appropriate transfer paperwork completed. Beginning this month, we will annually be requiring updated proof of residence for all students enrolled in our school.
Please send in a copy of a recent utility bill under the parent/guardian’s name dated May 1, 2021 or later:
· If you pay your bill on-line, you can print out a statement through the Internet. Examples: PG&E or City of Lincoln
· Cell phone bills or drivers’ licenses do not qualify
If it is convenient, you can send the information in one of the following formats:
· Send it to school in an envelope with your child to the office
· Fax it to (916) 434-5201
· E-mail it to kreilly@wpusd.org
· Please include your child’s name on the envelope
Please note that we will not enroll any student in a class if we do not get this updated proof of residence prior to August 6th.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our front office at (916) 434-5220.
Respectfully,
Will Middleton
Principal
TBE Dress Code
Dress Code
Students must wear clothing that is comfortable, clean, and weather appropriate. If a student’s appearance disrupts the school program, a parent will be called to assist in correction of the problem.
Students must always wear shoes. The shoes must be safe and appropriate for P.E. and outside activities. Any heels must be low and all sandals must have back straps. No flip-flops are allowed.
Shorts and Tops: We’re asking for a 4” inseam for all shorts. Spaghetti straps are allowed, but please practice good judgment in terms of modest dress. Clothing that exposes the midsection or underclothing is not allowed. Tights and/or shorts should be worn under dresses for outside activities.
Clothing and jewelry shall be free of writing, pictures or any other insignia which are crude, vulgar, profane, or sexually suggestive or that which advocates racial, ethnic, or religious prejudice or the use of drugs or alcohol.
Students must wear pants at or above the hip point that stay up without a belt. The pant length must be above the ground (sagging is not allowed).
Students shall not wear accessories which could pose a threat to the physical well-being and safety of the students or disrupt the learning environment. These include the following: ear piercings with protruding studs or hoops; chains; chokers with studs, etc.
Students wearing hats must have the brim facing forward, and hats must be removed indoors.
The administration reserves the right to decide the appropriateness of the student’s attire and to review and change the dress code to ensure a productive and safe learning environment as necessary. If a student’s articles of clothing, jewelry, or accessories violate the dress code or in some other way cause disruption to the learning environment, parents will be notified and the student will be asked to change.
