South Lebanon Elementary
October 2022
Principal's Spotlight
I am extremely excited to share the positive results of our SOAR program. Each morning after the Pledge of Allegiance, we say a SOAR creed where we pledge to Strive for Success, Own Our Actions, and Respect People and Property. Our students are recognized for "SOARing" by receiving hole punches on their SOAR punch cards. When students fill their cards they turn them in to the office for a small prize. On Wednesday, October 12th, our students and staff will participate in SOAR Day. This second phase of our SOAR program will provide an opportunity to make connections with students and teachers at multiple grade levels. On SOAR Day, our students will visit a new classroom and meet their SOAR community group. These groups will focus on a new character trait each month and work to make connections with one another to build our Falcon Community. On SOAR Day, students will also have an opportunity to win a larger prize by being selected from a random drawing. Any student who has turned in a SOAR punch card will be able to participate.
With the help of a few of our dedicated teachers, we have also brought back a few school jobs where students can apply and earn punches on their SOAR punch card as payment. Jobs that are currently available to students include table washers at lunch, bus leaders, and our morning announcements crew. Stay tuned for updates on future opportunities for our students.
Community Information Session on Vaping
Please join us at the Cedar Crest Middle School for an informational event for families on Vaping products. This event is best suited for adults as a way to provide information on this growing issue among students across the country.
