From the Principal's desk

Be strong and take heart, all who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:25

Thank you for coming to our Christmas Concert last week. Your attendance makes our season merry and bright. What a great job our students did! And the teachers weren’t too bad either.

FAITH: The second grade will begin the Las Posadas activity soon. Students dress as the nativity characters and go from class to class seeking “room at the inn”. Each class responds with “no”. On Dec 21, the entire school body gathers in the gym and the characters come once again to ask for room at the inn. The school responds joyously “Yes!” to welcome the newborn baby to the manger scene. It is a very meaningful activity for all and has become a tradition in our school.

SERVICE: Students have collected and donated food, toys, and coats as a part of service projects. In addition, Christmas cards created by our students in art will be sent to the shut-ins in our parish and to a local care facility. More money was collected for the Ark of Hope (Catholic Relief Services) project. Some classes have already met their goal. The school’s total goal of $1,000 has already been met!

INTEGRITY: Students have studied salvation history through the creation of Jesse Trees in their classroom. Daily they read scriptural passages about the Advent season. Students celebrated the Sacrament of Penance.

LEADERSHIP: The Spanish Club celebrated the Feast of our Lady of Guadalupe by planning a special mass on Dec. 12. We all learned more about this important feast day. Seventh and eighth grade students volunteered to do special instrumental and vocal presentations during the Christmas Concert.

SELF-STUDY SURVEYS: Surveys are being sent home to each family. Each family will receive one of the two surveys to complete. Half of our parents got the School Climate Survey and the other half of our parents got Catholic Identify Survey. The different surveys were sent out randomly and should be returned anonymously. Please take the time to do the survey and return by Dec. 18. Your input is important to our process.

Students and staff are looking forward to seeing The Star on Thursday. Please return the permission.

May the blessings of God our Father and His son Jesus Christ fill you with hope.
