Overview

Auschwitz was the largest of its kind. It consisted of 3 main camps, and was located at about 37 miles west of Krakow. The first was established in April 1940, the second was established in October 1941(Birkenow), and the third was established in October 1942 (Huschwitz Monowitz).

Deaths

Out of the 1,095,000 of the Jews sent, 960,000 died.

Out of the 147,000 Poles sent, 74,000 died.

Out of the 23,000 Roma sent 21,000 died.

Out of the 15,000 Soviet P.O.W, all of them died.

In total there was 1.3 million victims in Auschwitz between 1940 and 1945 1.1 million of which were killed.
