It's always a good idea to leave the sandals, flip flops and dress shoes at home, as our students have PE and/or recess everyday. Tennis shoes are a much safer shoe option for our LVES Vikings, especially on PE days.
No School - March 25th

LVISD Monthly Character Trait...
How are you showing Responsibility? Read the Counselor's Corner to find out what students are learning about how to be responsible with Ms. Box.
Counselor's Corner
Teaching kids responsibility, our March character trait, takes time and practice. Vikings have been learning the basics of responsible behavior in our guidance lessons this month. Parents can reinforce this by teaching responsibility at home and giving age appropriate things to do around the house. Having a few responsibilities helps them realize that a family is a team effort and everyone needs to contribute. It also builds their self-esteem and helps them learn skills to use later in life.
The following are age appropriate responsibilities they can begin to learn:
Ages 4-5 Make their bed - Set and clear the table - Get the mail - Dust the furniture - Help in the kitchen - Help carry and put away groceries - Pack up and unpack their backpack each day
Ages 6-12 Take care of pets - Prepare simple foods - Help wash the car - Vacuum/sweep/mop - Clean the bathroom - Rake leaves - Learn to use the washer and dryer - Hang/fold/put away laundry - Take out the trash
Having your kids take on some responsibilities is a learning process and it won't look perfect, but with guidance from you, in time, they will get better at it and grow to be more self-confident and responsible.
Have a great spring break!
