Definition of Earthquake
The definition of earthquake is a sudden and violent shaking of the ground, sometimes causing great destruction, as a result of movements within the earth's crust or volcanic action.
Negative Effects of Earthquakes
Earthquakes cause great damage to human structures such as buildings, roads, rails, factories, dams, bridges etc, and thus cause heavy damage to human property. It effects animals because they would have no place to live or nothing to eat. Earthquakes can also effect land by causing it to break in half and splitting trees. It effetcs people because they die from parts of buildings falling on them and they lose loved ones and friends.

An earthquake happened in Sichuna, China in Sunday May 11th 2008. More than 7,600 people died after a 7.8 magnitude. It affected people because people lost their loved ones and friends. It also effects the environment because trees and animals homes get destroyed.
