I cannot believe I just made the calendar through the last day of school! WOW! There are several things to note and be prepared for in advance. Poem in your pocket day will require every student to write or copy a short poem and keep it in their pocket all day. Dia de los Ninos Day will require us to dress as story book characters. Please start planning ahead!
We had such a great week. The Denton Museum was so informative. My class behaved so perfectly and asked great questions. We saw so many interesting artifacts from the past and really enjoyed the slide show showing Denton in the past and today. The Bayless Selby house, the Courthouse on the Square and the Denton historical park would all make fun and interesting family field trips. Take advantage of our rich history here! The kids did a great job sharing their family's artifacts too. I had to laugh as they talked about way, way back a long time ago in the 1980's! We saw an old laptop, Nintendo, camera, iron, cassette tapes, a doll, a family heirloom blanket and more! It was wonderful. I look forward to hearing the interviews this week and watching them work with their groups to study changes over time.
The second grade teachers are actively working on scheduling a spring field trip. I'll let you know as soon as we get it put together.
We had a lot of fun celebrating the 101st day of school. I dressed as Cruela deVil and loved having all the puppies follow me around. We did several fun activities and watched the movie.
Happy Superbowl Sunday!
