Happy Friday!
Hello ALMS Families,
So many things going on at ALMS this week. We had some festive St. Patrick's Day outfits and an excellent teacher spotlight where students used the engineering process to try and catch a Leprechaun. There are also more exciting articles and logos on the Media Club website.
Please see below for a message of thanks to the Student Council about their impactful efforts. Also, today ends the Trifecta Steppers contest, so please be sure to vote. Finally, please see the fantastic performance by our All County Chorus participants at the Westchester Festival.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Camille Edwards-Thomas
Principal

Teacher Spotlight: Ms. D'Ippolito's Leprechaun Project
After learning about the lore of leprechauns within Irish culture students were presented with a challenge, create a device that can trap a Leprechaun using the Engineering Design Process. Students were given this prompt, with various materials such as paper bags, colored paper, string, pipe cleaners, tape, cotton balls, and more. The students were then let loose on the design coming up with intuitive and creative traps!

A Message from the Student Council
Dear ALMS,
The Student Council would like to thank you for your generosity! In the month of March, we prepared over 300 lunch bags for our neighbors at the HOPE Community Kitchen. Each lunch bag included a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a small water and a bag of chips. Please look for our next signup genius in April.
Trifecta Steppers was created this year to increase and enhance camaraderie among New Rochelle students. The team encourages students to step out of their comfort zones and allows youth to form a strong bond and support system while giving them a voice to be “Confident, Inspiring, Vibrant and Ambitious.”
We are extremely excited to be considered for this competition and hope to make it to the semi-finals. For us to advance, we will need our supporters to vote for us so that we can make it all possible!! We hope that you will all consider voting for us. To vote, please follow the link below. We appreciate all of the support!
Enjoy the video showing our team!
Bracket voting opens on March 13th and closes on March 17th. To vote, click here. Please note that you can vote up to 10 times! Thank you!

A message from Legacy Studios, our Yearbook Photo company...
We have received an unprecedented amount of requests through our Customer Care Department from parents looking for their access codes to view their student's portraits. Often, by this time of year, parents have misplaced their online access codes. Linked below is a graphic that can direct your parents where to look.

Chromebook Responsibilities
To ALMS Parents and Students,
As a Middle School student, you are required to come to school with your district-provided chromebook charged. The district-provided chromebook is also your responsibility; if it's in your backpack, locker, on a bus, or at home, you must keep it protected from being damaged or lost/stolen.
Please refer to the AUP and Device Loaner Form, which you have signed with your parent/guardian, and review the terms and conditions listed on the form both inside and outside of school. If you have not already signed the AUP and/or Loaner Form, please click on the link above.
To all parents/guardians, please speak with your child regarding Chromebook care and responsibilities. Some of the computers are damaged due to students spilling liquids, tossing them to the ground during recess, getting knocked around in a backpack, or dropping them. Damaged Chromebooks are subject to fees. You may want to consider purchasing a case as was indicated on the school supply list.
You can refer to our Acceptable Use Policy and Device Loaner Form (linked above) for the CSDNR policy.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
