From The Principal
Since February is here, that means we are getting ready for Valentine's Parties! This year, our Valentine's Parties will be on Friday, February 10. We will be benchmark testing on the 14th, so we decided to make our party day the Friday before the actual day. Look for more information from your child's teacher.
February/March benchmarks are almost here! Please see information from Rebecca Green, our counselor.
Thanks! Have a great weekend!
Uniform Resale and Exchange:
Counselor's Corner:
Our campus will be conducting Spring Benchmark testing on the following days: February 14-15 and Feb 28-March 1. We want to provide some information so you can plan ahead:
*we will have a closed campus on these days. Parents will not be allowed to volunteer, do classroom observations, or eat lunch with their students.
*please make every effort to have your students at school on time
*please try to avoid picking your students up early on these days! We want children to have the experience of what STAAR testing will feel like and students cannot be picked up early during STAAR testing
*please be prepared to send 3rd-6th grade students with a healthy, non-messy snack and a bottle of water on these days. Hungry students cannot do their best!
*be aware that the cafeteria will only offer sack lunches on Feb 28 and March 1. If you order a school lunch, it will be a sack lunch that students will eat in their classrooms.
Thank you parents for your help! Our spring benchmark test is very important because it helps us plan our instruction for the rest of the spring to make sure your students are successful AND it gives teachers and students a chance to “practice” STAAR routines so everyone feels more comfortable and relaxed during STAAR testing in March and May.
From Our Specials Teachers:
Art: Need Parent points? The art room will need cotton balls for an upcoming project. Please be sure to label with student's name and teacher name to ensure you receive your parenting points.
Music: Each class K-6 will have their own "Mini Talent Show" in Music Class just for their classmates. A Talent show form will be coming home in the near future! A few participants from each grade level will be chosen to perform for "THE BIG TALENT SHOW" at the end of the year in May for their grade level.
