Principal's Message - Reminder of COVID-19 Prevention Protocols

Dear Falcon Families,

We have officially been back together full-time for a month! While the past weeks have come with some challenges, the reward of seeing our students learning in the classrooms and connecting with their peers validates our decision to reopen.

It is important that we all remain dedicated to following the COVID-19 guidelines for schools. Students and staff must wear proper face covering while in class, in the corridors, and outside when proper distancing cannot be maintained. . Please send your student to school with a mask. If they must get one from the school office we will offer them a cloth mask that can be washed and reused. Parents, I appreciate your continued efforts to screen your child for symptoms before school each day. As a reminder, do not send them to class if they are exhibiting multiple symptoms including a cough, sore throat, fever, and body aches. If you are unsure about sending them to school, you can always call the our office for guidance.

For our part, if a student comes to the office feeling unwell, we will very likely send them home and will require either clearance from your health provider or a negative COVID test in order for your child to return to class. In the event that your student must stay home or is quarantined, we will provide work for your child to do during this school absence.

Rest assure that daily and consistent sanitation of our campus is a top priority. In addition, we have replaced our HVAC units and improved the filtration systems in our classrooms and the multipurpose room. We are mindful of seating our students in the classrooms so that they have ample individual space. We are committed to providing a safe environment to our Falcon family.

I thank you all for your continued support. Our work has allowed our school community to be together again. We are determined to keep Pinewood open for full-time learning.

Sincerely,

Kim Little
