Toys for Tots....Last few Days! :)

Fourth grade is collecting new, unwrapped toys for the
US Marine Corps’ TOYS FOR TOTS program.
Bring your new, unwrapped toy to school between 11/30- 12/8.
Look for decorated boxes around the school to drop off your toy.
Remember… Giving makes your heart grow bigger!
Colonial Day is Coming..December 18th!
December 18th is our Fourth Grade Colonial Day. We request that all students dress up as colonist to be participants in our Level Creek Colonial camp that will be set up on the school grounds. (teachers will dress up too) Be on the look out for good outfits while all of the Halloween costumes are out this month. Below is a link form the PTA (it is a PDF) of a costume company that is a school partner.

This week in Language Arts...
Language Arts - We finished our Solar System Research Reports this week. Students will receive separate scores for the Organizer /Rough Drafts (Classwork grade) and the final published copies (TEST grade). I will enter these into the portal as soon as all are scored. A lot of work went into these reports. Informational writing involves research and note taking from a variety of resources. Points are deducted for not having the required 3 resources cited, as well as other important directions.
Genre Bingo status due today in eClass! Also, my reading students are bringing home their assigned novel. Everyone has a reading assignment over the break.
New Scholastic Book Orders went home this week. The turn-around is quick in order to have items before Winter Break. Books make great gifts! If you would like to order and PICK UP any books selected as gifts, just let me know and I will not send them with your child. All orders are due December 1st. Ordering online is super easy. Thank you and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
